If you drive a car then, you should be responsible at all times. Something that tends to get forgotten when becoming a licensed driver. Most people will never see the full extent of the damage that is caused from a serious car accident until they are involved in one themselves. Some don’t even get to live to see anything. With a view of encouraging road safety, here are some of the consequences of not being responsible when driving a car.
Damage to property or people
When you start to drive, you are, essentially being provided with a license to kill. You are in charge of and, responsible for a machine that is easily capable of causing serious damage to property or people, even more so if you aren’t paying attention.
Consider who you might normally have in the car and, the scenario whereby, you are taking your parents to look at new stairlifts in Evesham, lose control, collide with another car and, kill somebody. If you survive, that stays with you for the rest of your days.
Insurance claims
If you do have a serious accident, it will cost you money. Either, your premiums go up as you become a ‘higher’ risk client, you pay a fee or, your policy doesn’t cover your accident. Then, you are in deep water.
If you are driving somebody else’s car then, even if they are not in the car, they will be responsible for and affected by any financial responsibilities that come with their insurance policy.
